President Maithripala Sirisena says the drug raids in the city of Colombo and the coastal areas are to be widened further from April 3rd.
The President also said that the three armed forces and the police would jointly carry out these raids in a very strong manner.
President Sirisena made these remarks while participating in a ceremony to vest the newly built swimming pool of the Ananda Balika Maha Vidyalaya in Hingurakgoda, with the students, today (25).
The swimming pool was built at a cost of Rs. 45 million under the “Pibidemu Polonnaruwa (Awakening of Polonnaruwa)” District Development Project with the aim of boosting sport skills of the school children in the district.
President Sirisena also observed the presentations of the students. The Governor of the North Central Province Sarath Ekanayaka, the Principal, staff of the school, past pupils and school children participated in this event.
Meanwhile, the President also vests the new Classroom Building and the Auditorium, built at a cost of Rs. 60 million at the Minneriya National School, with the students, today.
When he reached the school, he was warmly welcomed by the school children. The President unveiled the plaque and inspected the new three storied classroom building and the auditorium and vested the ownership with the students.
In the meantime, the President agreed to take measures to install a RO plant purification water supply system for the College and provided dresses for the Western Band within the next two weeks.
The President handed over the ownership of houses for the families who do not have own houses in the area. The Principal Ms. E. M. Swarna Kumari, teaching staff, parents and old students were also participated in the event.
Subsequently the President handed over the new classroom building at Aluthoya Primary College in Hingurakgoda Education Zone to the students.
He was warmly welcomed by the children of the school as well. He unveiled the plaque and inspected the new classroom building with all required facilities for the students.
Meanwhile, the Minihirigama Hela Bojun Hut, which was constructed opposite Aluthoya College, was opened today under the patronage of the President.
