Schools and universities will be open on May 06
The National Security Council met at the Presidential Secretariat today (26) under the patronage of the President Maithripala Sirisena.
During this meeting, it was revealed that most of the people who were threat to the national security and a large number of explosives have been arrested so far.
The President instructed the Security Forces to continue these joint operations uninterruptedly and in a strong manner to eradicate terrorism from this country without leaving any possibility of re-organization of terrorism.
The re-opening of schools and universities was also postponed to May 06.
Discussions were also held to provide tight security to places of examination.
The National Security Council also requested all parties not to commemorate the May Day celebrations due to the prevailing situation of the country.
The National Security Council has also approved a new security programme to provide broad security for state institutions, key tourist hotels and public places.
