President will leave for Sanchi this morning to participate in a ceremony to lay the foundation stone for the University of Buddhist and Indic Studies.

Prior to his arrival in Sanchi, President will arrive in Bhopal where he will be received by Shri Ram Naresh Yadav, Governor of Madhya Pradesh.

Meanwhile, over 1,000 MDMK supporters led by the party’s general secretary Vaiko were stopped early on Wednesday on their way to Sanchi near Pandhurna on the Madhya Pradesh-Maharashtra border to protest against the visit of President Rajapaksa.

Jabalpur range Inspector General V. Madhu Kumar told the police would take action if the protesters tried to proceed towards Bhopal.
