President Maithripala Sirisena arrived in Indira Gandhi Airport in New Delhi today (May 13), starting his two days visit to India on an invitation by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The President was welcomed with special honours at the airport by the Defense State Minister of India Rao Indrajit Singh and Sri Lanka High Commissioner Esala Weerakoon and other officials.
The official meeting between President Sirisena and the Indian Premier will be held today at the Hydrabad House in New Delhi. The bilateral discussion will focus on the important matters related to both countries.
The President will participate in the Hindu religious festival to be held in Kumbhamela in Ujjain in Madya Pradesh tomorrow. He will also unveil the statue of Angarika Dharmapala in Sanchi.
