As a response to the request made by Pandit Amaradewa before his demise, to establish music center for the future generation, President Maithripala Sirisena headed a discussion on the preliminary activities on that regard today (Dec. 05) at the President’s Official Residence.
The President directed officials to work on the preliminary activities for the establishment of this music center before Pandit Amaradewa’s three months alms giving, as honor to him. They discussed about the possibility of establishing this proposed Amaradewa Music Center in the premises of Ape Gama which has aesthetic value. The President appointed a committee to work on this.
Another discussion on this will be held on the 30th of this month, after the committee searches about the possibility of the establishment of the music center.
Ministers S. B. Navinna, Gayantha Karunathilaka, Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs Anusha Gokula and the wife of Pandit Amaradewa Mrs. Vimala Amaradewa were among those participated in this discussion.
