President Maithripala Sirisena opened the Toxin Free National Fair and Exhibition held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) ,today (30th).
The exhibition, which is being held under the theme of “let’s Not Eat Toxins- Protect Motherland” (Nokamu Wasa Visa Rakimu Maw Bima) will be held at BMICH from today until 01st of April 2019.
The intention of this national fair and exhibition is to initiate a toxin free country and a sustainable development era.
The exhibition features hundreds of stalls displaying handicrafts and decorative items, medical clinics, book exhibitions and special scholarly dialogues.
The President after declare opening the exhibition made an observational tour of it and engaged in friendly discussion with the staff.
A pledge to build a “Healthy nation – Toxin Free Country” was also declared at the event.
Sri Lanka National Council’s President Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thero and group of people were also participated in this occasion.
