President Maithripala Sirisena conveyed his last respect to the remains of late Mahanayaka of the Amarapura Maha Nikaya Most ven. Dauldena Gnanisssara thera, today (April 04).
President visited Nugegoda, Pagoda Sri Vidya Vijaya Temple where the Nayaka Threra’s remains kept, and expressed his deepest condolences to the Nikaya Theras and other student monks.
The Mahanayaka Thera who guided the Sambuddha Sasana, by leading the Sri Lankan Monks society was nourished by Most Ven Dauldena Gnanissara Thera said President. President expressed his deepest sympathy about the demise of Mahanayaka thera while mentioning the immeasurable knowledge of thera.
The final rites ceremony of the Mahanayaka Thera will be held with full state honours and the President has given advises to handle full expenses by the government.
