President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday visited the Japanese cruise ship Nippon Maru, which arrived at the Colombo Port.
The President also engaged in cordial discussion with the youth on board representing various nationalities and asked about their experiences on this journey.
The ship, Nippon Maru carrying over 200 youth annually voyage around the world to build reconciliation , peace and friendship among the nations. The ship arrived at the Colombo Port, yesterday (14).
Representing Sri Lanka 12 young persons engaged in this tour.
243 young leaders representing 11 countries, including Sri Lanka and Japan had joined for this tour and the Nippon Maru ship will be docked in Colombo Port until February 17.
The office of the Prime Minister of Japan has organized this journey with the aim of achieving targets like building relationships between nations and different cultural experiences. The Youth Center represents the government of Sri Lanka for this program.
The Nippon Maru World Youth Ship Program will end at the Yokohama Port, Japan on February 29.
