President Maithripala Sirisena will vest several development projects in the Elahera- Bakamuna area with the public tomorrow (04) which were completed under the Pibidemu Polonnaruwa District Development Project, which was commenced to eliminate the unjust occurred to the District of Polonnaruwa in the process of development as well as to uplift people economically while developing the educational facilities for the children in the area.
The three-storied building built at the Mahasen Maha Vidyalaya in Bakamuna will vest with the students tomorrow morning by the President and the newly built building comprises of 02 Technical Units and eight classrooms and the building was constructed at a cost of Rs.16.8 million. The President also will open the newly built Elahera District Secretariat.
Meanwhile, President Sirisena will open the newly built two-storied building at the Kottapitiya Junior School comprises of six classrooms. The building was constructed at a cost of Rs.8.4 million.
Later, a programme will be held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at the Pulatisi Buddhi Mandapaya in Polonnaruwa to distribute equipment for 1,000 self- employed persons, with the aim of uplifting livelihood of the people living in Elahera-Bakamuna area.
The President will also open the newly built building at the Mihidu Jayanthi Piriven in Aththanakadawala which was built under the Government’s programme to develop Piriven education of the country. It was built at a cost of Rs.9 million.
The projects being implemented in the Elahera-Bakamuna area under various development fields as well as the projects which are to be implemented in the future in this area worth around Rs.3500 million. Out of this amount Rs.1274.3 million has been invested already for various development projects.
These development projects are for the benefit of the future generation in the Elahera-Bakamuna area of Pulatisipurawaraya.
