As stated in policy document of good governess… Stable country by His Excellency the President the special attention has been paid on Chronic Kidney Disease of uncertain Etiology that had been widely spread as a menace and prevailing over numerous districts in Dry Zone of Sri Lanka.

Presidential Task Force on Prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease was established with direct guidance and instructions of His Excellency in order to enhance facilities of welfare and preventative matters to patients affected with Chronic Kidney Disease.

Presidential Task Force on Prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease is operational under the development and Special Project Division of Presidential Secretariat with the aim of Harnessing and sharing knowledge Application of best practice, Preventing Occurrence and guaranteeing treatment and ensuring welfare of the affected through a process of coordination. Duties of Presidential Task Force on Prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease can be listed as follows.

  • Preparation of National plan or policy for eradicating CKDu.
  • Inter Ministerial, departmental and institutional coordination with regard to CKDu.
  • Intervention in legal and policy matters with regard to CKDu.
  • Act as a facilitatior with regard to CKDu.
  • Supervision and Guidance.
  • Feedback and Project Review

Contain the Chronic Kidney Disease and ensure welfare of patients and their families.

MISSION

Ensuring the acquisition and sharing of knowledge, application of correct methodologies, prevention and treatment of patients and welfare of the affected through a process of coordination.
