Joint Statement March 26, 2007
We unequivocally condemn the LTTE's
failed effort to weaken the strike capability of the
Sri Lanka Air Force. Similarly, we express our gratitude
and appreciation for the courageous action by the Sri
Lanka Air Force to foil the targets of the LTTE.
We unanimously call upon the Sri
Lankan people to give their unstinted support to all
steps taken by the Government that uses this incident,
which gives the appearance of a grave threat to national
security, as the background to its efforts to completely
and decisively defeat separatist terrorism.
The air power of a frenzied and desperate
organization as the LTTE is a grave threat aimed not
only to Sri Lanka but also to the entire South Asian
region. Accordingly, we call upon the international
community to make a proper assessment of this very real
danger and draw its serious attention to all actions
taken both locally and abroad by these separatist terrorist
forces in Sri Lanka.
