President Rajapaksa informed the
Bhutanese Prime Minister that he would explore possibilities
of providing concessionary airfares through Mihin Air
for pilgrimages between the two countries.
The Bhutanese Prime Minister thanked
the President for training Bhutanese doctors and other
officials in Sri Lanka.
The President also held cordial
talks with Pakistan Prime Minister Shaukat Azeez. Matters
discussed included increasing of the number of flights
between Lahore and Colombo, increasing the number of
pilgrimages between the two countries and the exploration
of ways and means to re-direct tourist traffic from
South East Asian countries to Pakistan via Colombo.
It was also decided to increase the number of scholarships
granted by Pakistan to Sri Lanka.
