President to address International Labour Conference

President Mahinda Rajapaksa left for Geneva this morning (13) to attend a Special Session of the 96th International Labour Conference that is currently being held there. He is scheduled to deliver a special lecture on June 15 at 11.00 a.m. Geneva time.

This is the firs time that a Sri Lankan Head of State is attending this annual event.

More than 3,000 government, worker and employer leaders are meeting in Geneva from May 30 to June 15 for the annual Conference to discuss issues ranging from decent work and development to child labour in agriculture, work in the fishing sector, equality at work, forced labour and the promotion of sustainable enterprises.
